RENAISSANCE ATLANTA AIRPORT GATEWAY HOTEL FEATURES STRIKING, FLOATING LIQUOR CABINET
Banker Wire’s Woven Mesh Adds Industrial Detailing to Custom Bar Furnishings
MUKWONAGO, WI—NOVEMBER 8, 2017— The newly opened Hickory & Hazel Southern Table and Bar at the Renaissance Atlanta Airport Gateway Hotel offers travelers and southern Atlanta dwellers a stunning bar that showcases a “floating” liquor display. Banker Wire’s antique brass plated woven wire mesh, M22-37, stands on its own as a beautiful pattern amidst the color of glowing liquor bottles.
Banker Wire, a leading manufacturer of woven and welded wire mesh for architectural and industrial applications, was chosen for this project because of the industrial and raw functionality the mesh provides. The focal point of the bar area, conceived by award-winning interior design firm Rottet Studio, is the incredible “floating” liquor cabinet that is as striking as it is functional. The colored bottles are enhanced by the cabinet lighting, protected by the antique brass plated M22-37 mesh. The design of this New Orleans-style bar showcases raw and polished finishes intertwined, noted Enrique Vela, associate principal at Rottet Studio. The design team devised industrial detailing and texture throughout the space.
When concepting the space, Rottet Studio collaborated with architect Rule Joy Trammell + Rubio and fabricator Fabmaster on the construction details. “The bar cage was made by Banker Wire mesh, a blackened steel structure, and wood shelves with LED linear light for bottle display. We also used the Banker Wire mesh for one of our custom communal tables at the bar,” said Ashley Liu, designer at Rottet Studio.
The M22-37 wire mesh pattern is a scaled down version of the company’s popular M22-27 pattern, which features a strong and rigid twin wire weave that balances both spacing and wire diameter. The mesh’s transparency allows the bottles in the liquor display to be seen and admired. Available in seven alloy options and four secondary finishes, the all-purpose twin wire lock crimp pattern can be woven for any application.
“We ultimately chose Banker Wire as our manufacturing partner because of the good quality, finishes and various patterns available,” explained Liu. “The scale of grids and the M22-37 pattern is perfect for our bar cage.”

About Architectural Woven Wire Mesh
Pre-crimped woven wire mesh is constructed of individual wires that are crimped prior to being woven together on a loom. Pre-crimping the wires provides a much higher degree of control during the weaving process. This allows for far more intricate and interesting patterns, as well as unique customization, to meet the vision of the designer. Banker Wire has refined and innovated its crimping process more than any other manufacturer, delivering more than 8,000 different spacing, diameter, and crimp combinations, plus endless customization options. As a result, Banker can make any woven wire mesh pattern imaginable – manufactured to specify for any project type.
