Mounting Systems for
Flexible Mesh
With the Banker Wire mounting systems, flexible wire mesh can be used for both interior or exterior applications. Metal drapery systems that can create interior space dividers either at fixed dimensions or as moveable divider screens that add color and degrees of transparency to a space. Or, exterior façade mounting systems that allow for large uninterrupted coverage of a building. The versatility of options aim to satisfy the most creative architects’ vision and meet the most demanding performance specifications.
Banker Wire’s line of Flexible Wire Mesh patterns provides expanded creative freedom for designers and architects with material as adaptable as its name. In addition, the flexible characteristic of the mesh’s construction allows for very large, single piece dimensions. This allows for larger area coverage with less structural steel required, something where panelized systems fall short.
Our metal meshes can be made of aluminum, stainless steel, and copper. Once created, they can be treated with multiple secondary finishes to be adapted to any project. For example, the finishes of the architectural mesh can be natural, powder coated, anodized or lacquered.
Flexible Mesh Systems
The term “Flexible” is used to categorize products of wire mesh in which the construction method creates a loose intersection where the wires cross over one another. This flexible weave is constructed of a spiral shaped wire that links together with a rod that passes through the spiral shape’s opening. Together, these links combine to create a belt.
Tensioned Systems – Rigid in the direction of the spiral, a belt’s length dimension is defined once tension is applied, allowing the spiral and rod to nest. Without tension, the spiral mesh length can be collapsed into a tight bundle. Therefore, this flexible situation calls for a system that can control these characteristics in an effective way for the built environment.
Banker offers these Tension Fastening Systems for flexible mesh:
- Round Thread
- Flat Thread
- Wrap
Metal Drapery – Metal drapery systems that can create interior space dividers either at fixed dimensions that add color and degrees of transparency to a space. These systems also allow the hanging wire mesh to be moved to the side along the rail as moveable divider screens to add flexibility to the usage of an interior room.
Banker offers these Drapery Fastening Systems for flexible mesh:
- Curtain
- Fold
- Loop
For these products, Banker partners with Spanish company Codina Architectural to offer flexible mesh systems. Banker provides unparalleled industry experience, project management, and knowledge of mesh properties. Codina Architectural provides flexible mesh manufacturing and engineering expertise. This results in the perfect aesthetic, on budget, seamlessly installed…every time.
Round Thread
Providing a means of tensioning the mesh, the Round Thread flexible mesh mounting system uses a rod that is inserted inside the spirals, as well as equally spaced eyebolts at both the top and bottom horizontal edges of the mesh. The eyebolts are connected to the rod that is captured within the spiral and provides the means for applying load. All materials are made from T316 stainless steel. A powder coat finish can be applied upon request.
The Round Thread flexible mesh mounting system is applicable to the following mesh patterns:
Delta 12R | Delta 24RG | Dune 4050 | Dune 20100 | Dune 40100 | Drift | Flow | Ripple(R) | Ridge
Flat Thread
Providing a means of tensioning the mesh, the Flat Thread flexible mesh mounting system uses a flat bar that is inserted inside the spirals at both the top and bottom horizontal edges of the mesh. Holes are provided at equidistant spacing along the bar where a clevis and pin connect and provide the load. All materials are made from T316 stainless steel. A powder coat finish can be applied upon request.
The Flat Thread flexible mesh mounting system is applicable to the following mesh patterns:
Delta 12R | Delta 24RG | Dune 4050 | Dune 20100 | Dune 40100 | Drift | Flow | Ripple(R) | Ridge
Wrap
The Wrap flexible mesh mounting system wraps the horizontal ends of the fine spiral mesh to form a sleeve where a tube can be inserted across the width of the mesh. From this tube, threaded sockets are equally spaced and provide the load. All materials are made from T316 stainless steel. A powder coat finish can be applied upon request. The Wrap flexible mesh mounting system is applicable to the following mesh patterns:
Drift | Ripple(R)
Loop
The Loop flexible mesh mounting system can be used when the design calls for the flexible mesh to hang freely or drape. This system allows you to hang the mesh at 90 degrees to make flat or rounded space dividing options in your space. Alternating rods within the mesh are extended and welded form a loop. All materials are made from T316 stainless steel. This loop can then facilitate a connection point like a round bar to hang from. The Loop flexible mesh mounting system is applicable to the following mesh patterns:
Drift | Delta 24RG | Ripple(R)
Curtain
The Curtain Flexible Mesh System is made of a heavy-duty galvanized rail with internal carriages that allow the draped flexible wire mesh to be loosely gathered together or fully expanded. Flexible mesh attaches to the carriages by a hook through a grommet at the top of the mesh. The hooks are available in a 23 mm size. A curved configuration is possible with a minimum achievable radius of 500 mm. The rail can be powder coated in a variety of colors, or shipped raw. The Curtain Flexible Mesh System is suitable for the following mesh pattern:
Ripple(R)
Fold
The Fold Flexible Mesh System fixation system is comprised of straight profiles at set intervals with rotating hooks that attach to a carriage inside of a heavy-duty zinc galvanized rail. This system allows the flexible mesh to collapse and condense in a uniform arrangement satisfying many aesthetic and functional needs. The rail and straight profiles can be powder coated in a variety of colors, or shipped raw. The Fold Flexible Mesh System is suitable for the following mesh patterns:
Delta 12R | Delta 24RG | Drift | Narrows | Ripple(R)
