The San Diego Broadway Pier is populated with three styles of seating that includes stainless steel M13Z-179 woven wire mesh.

The San Diego Boardwalk is filled with vigorous ocean breezes, echoing the many laughs from families and the rhythmic steps of joggers. Amidst this beautiful scene is the Broadway Pier—contemporary in design and filled with community spirit. The benches having very minute wire mesh are highly functional and perform a more aesthetic task. Such clean lines, versatile material, and hard-wearing substance of the benches invite people to these breathtaking and panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean to have a rest and savour the moment.

Three seating styles fill out the San Diego Broadway Pier, the inclusions of stainless steel M13Z-179 woven wire, simple benches, benches with backs and arms, and café tables. The benches and their styles were specifically chosen because they invoke the look of something a shipbuilder would have designed. Spain's Escofet designed the benches that have backs and arms and Civitas designed the standard benches. They were all fabricated with laminated Alaskan yellow cedar and wrapped in steel straps by Richardson Steel, a local family-owned business, inspired by old ship masts. The strapping is for beauty to add and to prevent skateboarders from using them for practice.

On every piece of furniture along the boardwalk, there is an innovation and a story of craftsmanship. The wire mesh in the benches is not an accidental material but rather a testament to durability and elegance. Prepared to confront the salty sea breeze and the continuous number of visitors, the benches only speak to the brilliance of their designers. The mesh pattern that adorns each bench can be evocative of the waves crashing against the shores, making these practicable solutions for resting a favorite spot among tourists and locals alike.

As the sun begins to set, the boardwalk transforms into a place where people can find peaceful refuge. Taken over by the golden rays of dusk, the wire mesh benches themselves stand as silent witnesses to the closure of the day. The pairs who use them whisper to each other secluded, hidden words, while the individuals find solace and a free view across the horizon. The furniture, placed intuitively to form one with the natural exuberance of the world around, totally adds up to the character of the promenade, and it is much valued and much awaited by one and all.
