The Metworks building in London was first constructed in 2006 and was recently renovated from an old accommodation space into a cutting-edge creative college. The old, outdated building is now home to one of the largest creative colleges for young adults in the United Kingdom. The college is spread across eight campuses throughout the UK, allows students to explore their creative side, and offers courses in eSports, games, media, music, and computing.
Contact One collaborated closely with Amron Architectural, Banker Wire’s representative in the UK, and installed our L-62 woven mesh panels into frames and powder coated in traffic red to give a bold, bright, and eye-catching aesthetic. This collective effort contributed to successfully revitalizing the space, ensuring it meets the demands of a dynamic and creative educational setting.
One of the amazing uses of colored wire mesh for aesthetic appeal, along with the added functionality, is in London's Metworks building. In this building, colored mesh panels create a dynamic façade and make it a visually outstanding landmark. This creative application of wire mesh beautifies the outside of a building, with its playful mixture of colors, while having some very practical advantages like better ventilation and diffused natural light inside. An interplay created there gives this building a unique identity, creating an uprising fixture within the urban landscape and one contributing to more sustainability and visual appeal.
In conclusion, the colorful wire mesh at the Metworks building in London exemplifies how innovative architectural elements can redefine urban spaces. By integrating vibrant hues and functional design, the building not only enhances its visual appeal but also promotes sustainability and efficiency. This thoughtful application of wire mesh demonstrates a harmonious blend of aesthetics and practicality, setting a new standard for modern architectural design. The Metworks building stands as a testament to the transformative power of creative engineering, making a lasting impression on both its occupants and the surrounding community.
